Symbol Mark
The symbol mark ‘Engagement’ visually represents the identity and vision of DH2026, the international academic conference to be held in Daejeon, South Korea in 2026.
The primary motif of the design is the ‘Hanbit Tower’, a landmark of Daejeon, reflecting both the locality of the host city and the symbolic character of the event. The pillar and the star positioned at its peak signify the leap of knowledge and creativity as well as the future-oriented development of Digital Humanities.
The surrounding fluid curve draws inspiration from ‘Sangmo Nori’, a traditional Korean cultural performance where the head ornament worn by a farmer’s band performer spins dynamically in circular motions. This visual element symbolizes harmony, convergence, and liveliness, capturing the spirit of dynamic interaction and unity among diverse academic fields and discourses that DH2026 seeks to foster.
Furthermore, the multi-colored gradient effect, inspired by the traditional Korean attire ‘Hanbok’, expresses DH2026’s openness and inclusiveness, highlighting the conference’s commitment to embracing diversity across cultures and disciplines.
Under the slogan ‘Engagement’, this symbol mark aims to visually communicate DH2026’s vision of building a global network in Digital Humanities and fostering practical solidarity across the international community.

Logotype
The logotype is one of the core visual elements that, together with the symbol mark, forms the foundation of the DH2026 Logo & Style system. It plays a key role in conveying the brand identity, consistency, and official character of the event.
Designed with a focus on visual harmony with the symbol mark and optimal readability, the logotype adopts a modern sans-serif aesthetic. It is based on Google’s Noto Sans typeface, which offers excellent legibility and versatility for international use across various media platforms.
