The organizing committee of the mini-conference “Distant Past(s) – Current Future(s): Digitization, Digital Objects and Datafication Approaches in Ancient and Medieval Studies” is now accepting submissions for DH2026.

About the Mini-Conference

This full-day mini-conference on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 offers an exchange platform for ancient civilizations and medieval studies scholars venturing into DH practices and tools, those with experience bridging historical evidence and technical approaches, and technical experts contributing to ancient and medieval projects. Submissions are welcome on topics including ethics, accessibility, reuse, mapping, ownership, imaging, engagement, curation, and more.

Submission Details

  • Deadline: May 1, 2026 (23:59 UTC+1)
  • Abstract length: 250–300 words
  • Submission: Via online form only
  • Formats: Long Talk (20 min) or Short Talk (10 min)

Scholars and practitioners at all career stages are welcome, and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) are strongly encouraged to submit. This CFP is open to all researchers — you do not need to have an accepted submission in the main DH2026 program to apply. Selected contributors will need to register for DH2026.
