Call for Papers: AI4AS 2026 — AI for Ancient Studies Mini-Conference at DH2026

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for AI4AS 2026 (AI for Ancient Studies), a mini-conference taking place as part of DH2026 in Daejeon, South Korea (July 27–31, 2026).

AI4AS 2026 focuses on engagement and fragility, critically examining the opportunities and risks that generative AI introduces into the study, interpretation, and dissemination of ancient non-alphabetic languages. The mini-conference gathers experts across diverse ancient-language traditions to build a shared understanding of responsible AI adoption within Ancient World Studies.

Key Dates

  • Submission deadline: April 7, 2026 (11:59 pm AoE)
  • Notification of acceptance: April 15, 2026
  • Camera-ready abstract due: April 20, 2026

Submission Guidelines Abstracts of max 500 words in English, submitted as PDF to ai4asconference@gmail.com with [AI4AS2026] in the subject line.

Selected contributors will be required to register for DH2026 via ConfTool. Early bird registration is available until May 18, 2026.
